I was calling it that too. Great minds think alike, because I do think it sounds ghey but it would have kept a great name alive.

And you know everyone would call it a prelude and not an accord prelude. Maybe Honda didnt want that.....

Yeah... if everyone just called it Prelude instead of Accord Prelude then I don't think the sales should really count for the Accord ::cough:: the (Camry) Solara ::cough::

Saddly, as George Harrison wrote, "All things must pass", including my beloved Prelude

I do think that once the Accord six speed arives, the CL is dead. I'd take the new Accord over the old CL in a heartbeat.

Well, the Preludes were pretty plush for the Honda line... maybe the return of the Prelude as a CL replacement? :dunno: It was basically the luxury Integra.

Sportier styling could really do the Acura line some good. All the larger Acuras are pretty blah. I know a lot of people who got the Lincoln LS because it looks so sporty in comparison to the TL/CL, even though in reality it is dog slow.

Now you know how all us Legend fanatics feel. Honda/Acura can make some dumb decisions.

But all they did was take away the Legend nameplate. It was headed this way either way. The Lude and CL may be completely gone...the AC is too big and luxurious to be it, and the RSX is too small and bland and doesn't have that nameplate.

QT, now the Integra is as luxurious as they come. Pure irony. The Prelude would have to be a bare bones Integra.

RSXTypeS the new accord V-6 cuupe is going to have a HLSD.

I think the CL is done. The TL-S will get an optional 6 speed.
Maybe a couple years down the road Honda will build a CL that will blow away Nissan (G35), although that will be a tough task.

As for the prelude, I think that if the Z sells as good as expected and Toyota brings a return of the Supra, which also sells good, you will see a 6th gen Lude take a jump in performance and price segment to compete with these cars. Probably will have leather, 6speed manual w/ lsd, V-6 dohc vtec, RWD, and cost about $28-$35,000.

The new Z starts at $27k and goes up to $37k; I'm sure the Supra will follow traditional Toyota fashion and be priced at $32k to $40k, way above the competition.

Maybe I'm dreaming of my next new car, but I think it is feasible, the Japanese muscle cars are going to be back.

Japanese muscle cars are really coming into play, especially if damn 20k family sedans can be faster than a Corvette or Trans-Am was 15 or 20 years ago, and Porsches were just 30 years ago.

Are you sure about the HLSD? I've seen it in no literature...it would kick freaking ass though, I would buy it next spring in a heartbeat then. Right now I'm 50/50.

According to Honda reps at the '03 Accord sales ride and drive.
They mainly trained us on the sedan, however gave insight and info on the upcoming v6 coupe and said it would have 17s, 6speed, and hlsd to segregate it from other accord coupes.

Wait until you see pictures of this model in the original silver that was available on the '00-01 S2k.
