The TL, Accord, and TSX are all real close in comparison. I am guessing the TSX base will be more than the Accord LX, but less expensive than the Accord EX V6.

I agree with you that TL, Accord, and TSX are very close to each other. This is what I think Acura is doing, it's using two mid-sized sport sedans, TL and TSX, to compete against the classes of BMW 330i and 325i, respectively. Since TSX is going to use a four-cylinder engine, probably displaces 2.4L, so I assume it's fighting against competitors like BMW 325i, Audi A4 1.8T, M-B C240, Saab 9^3, etc. When 3.2TL and 3.2TL Type S competes against all six cylinder near-luxury sedans and sport sedans like Infiniti G35, Infiniti I35, BMW 330i, Audi A4 3.0 CVT, Lexus ES300, Lexus IS300, M-B C320, etc.

Good post 95...also keep in mind Honda is doing this because they sold 60,000 TL's last year and it's a H-U-G-E segment. Another car in there cannot hurt.

Not to mention the TSX required so little R&D even if it flops it wont hurt the company much. I mean, if you got the Euro Accord..... use it!

I think it looks better than the new accord. Especially in the back compared to the 4 door here. In the link to the new accord the front looks weird to me. I have yet to see one in person. TSX looks all around better to me.

Just some more info I found, from globalautonet.com:

The 2004 TSX will be formally introduced in January at the Los Angeles and Detroit shows and will go on sale in the spring, priced from about $26,000. Imported from Japan and powered by a 200-bhp 2.0-liter four-cylinder, the TSX is slightly smaller than the redesigned U.S. Accord that is just going on sale. The TSX will be slotted between the RSX and the TL in size and price and will be aimed at such near-luxury European sedans as the Audi A4, the Saab 9-3, and the Volvo S60, as well as premium Japanese models such as the Infiniti G35.

Seems a bit odd that they would put the same motor as the RSX-S in it, let's hope there's a 200 hp 2.4 liter to give it more off-the-line punch and attract buyers who are cross shopping with inline-sixes and turbocharged inline-fours.

I can see the TSX going against the A4 1.8t, 9-3, and S60, but no way is it going to touch the G35. Save that for the TL Type-S.
