I hope they realize that if they release a 6-speed sport sedan with the Acura nameplate that only only does 0-60 in 8.5 seconds, they will not be selling too many.

The TSX needs to get down to the 7 second range 0-60 to compete in its market niche over here.

I may have to leave Nissan/Infiniti......
This car is beautiful, if it has a manual and has good power, reasonable price and comes out next year this may be my next car.

They're not stupid (read: G20). How many Acuras these days are slow, besides the RL? Uhh, none. Everything in the Acura lineup has overkill horsepower.

Honda has never used the same engines for USDM as they did for JDM/Europe, people...don't worry.

RB6, don't get your panties in a wad over that 187BHP base...that figure is very similiar to the X-Type's engine, and also the A4's base engine. I suspect another engine in the Type-S that has at least 30 HP more...so like 220-240.

The Type-R lip and skirts really finish out the car, IMHO just as they do on the RSX, which I think looks a little tall w/o them.

Judging by the photos... despite the car-selling rather than functional camera angles... aerodynamically the car doesn't really need a spoiler/wing, but still I am a little surprised by the lack of one. To Mr. American Joe, spoiler = sporty. Not that I'm complaining; the car has clean, wonderful lines as it is.
Same goes for the Civic Type R, the Type R underbody kits jsut finish out the look of the car, make it looks 100 times better.

As for the whole CSX thing. It's called the RSX.

Seriously, its not an accident they look sooooo much alike in the rear.

Very good points. Acura's are not slow by any means, even the MDX (with 240hp and not 260hp) is the fastest SUV this side of a high dollar German SUV.

I wouldnt be too suprised to see a hi-power (about 20hp more than the accords version) K24 and J30 show up in the TSX, thats actually what im hoping for. Like I've said before, the lack of a V6 is unheard of in this class. Think about it, everything north of a civic has a V6. An accord does, and Audi A4 (the TSX biggest competitor imho) does. And it comes with a 4cyl as the base engine.

I hope to see the TSX mimic the A4's scheme. 4 cylinder base, V6 optional, AWD optional across the line. Manual, auto or CVT in most version. As for the S4 version, there be a TSX Type S

Good point Chris, American and European engine options vary a lot. Expect to see about one engine that they have make it into the TSX, and the rest be different.

Maybe that's the incentive Honda had in NOT offering a 6 speed tranny on their Accord sedan v6 models...so as to not conflict with their planned release of the Acura TSX Type S w/V6 engine :dunno:

We can hope anyways

And I bet you're exactly right. The TSX is made to be alot sportier. Extremely good point bro.

Yianni, I agree...I hope for a high power K24 with 180-190HP (such as the top of the line JDM accord, but they won't say 187 HP....they'll say 185 or 190) and a J30 with 245-250 HP.

That's yet another reason not to offer it. But the fact that it wouldnt sell enough is the main reason.

Yeah that's what I'm guessing/wishing for too...245-250 hp with a v6 (j30) for the Type S model :blue:

The i4 version with 180-190 hp for the Base.

Can't wait till Honda releases the USDM specs. I was leaning towards a G35 coupe as my new car out of college, but man the TSX is looking really sweet.

I'd buy one

Hence why the NSX is a valuable icon for the Acura name for that image.

Just needed to drop that. h:
