The Future of the Accord
Nissan looks ridiculous raising horsepower ratings over and over again. Like it was stated above, they are killing their resale values and pushing their vehicles into uncharted territory. If they put the Altima at 255hp in the middle of a generation, then they are threatening their other vehicles at that range.
I was really impressed with Nissan right after they introduced the new Altima, 350Z and so on. They were created interest in their product by making them better. Adding horsepower every year is nothing but a gimmick. I'll laugh if something happens to their precious VQ engine. Imagine the backlash considering almost every vehicle they produce uses it.

My 98 Accord V6 is slightly faster than the new Camry's (and doesn't take premium fuel either
), and the new Accord will tear it up. :fawk:

I didnt say it's fast, it doesnt feel slow.... and it isnt. Maybe in numbers, but its not bad when driving. Read magazines. BTW, you dont feel a few .secs when driving, its called paper. Oh, and Kazi....better check that auto of yours, it might be ready for an overhaul, you know, ther're not known for their reliability. :fawk:

The way the Camry drives (smooth and quiet), it does FEEL slow too.

Read magazines you say? Here:
"But as one tester commented, "If the old Camry was vanilla ice cream, this [02 Camry SE] is vanilla bean."
Car and Driver 12/2001
"The V6 engine feels quite strong on the bottom end, and has plenty of midrange, but power tapers off rapidly in the upper reaches of the rev band."

:slap:  If you want to generalize things like that. Toyota has a well known problem with their 97-01 3.0L V6 with sludging.
Article: Toyota, owners spar over sludge problem
By the way, there's no problem on my tranny.

Not that I am camry fan but I read in motor trend that the es300 is about to be the es330 because toyota is going to a 3.3L v6 outputting 240 hp. Since the camry and es uses the same v6 basic except the vvti, the camry might be increase to 220-225 hp following the current different between vvti and not vvti v6s.
