Default Cobalt

Hi, I just finished reading everything you all said in here, and your all missing the big picture set along time ago. The cavalier was crap and they knew it. They released the cavalier way back when to get a handle on the small car biz. i dont know where i read the article at but they were in the midst of designing the cobalt back in the late 80's early 90's and released the cavalier just to have something out there. the cavalier was suppossed to be a cobalt but they decided to release it as the POS cavalier. I wouldnt even touch a cavalier with your hand much less anyhting else... i agree on the so called "spoiler" they put on it. it looks like crap, to me it looks like they were trying to make it look like the Chevy isignia. the other thing alot of you are blind to is that it is very hard to get a totally unique car. you have to take looks of other cars nowadays because there is no ther look that you can get that will appeal to people. that is getting into the way the government and companies have a hold on society, the way they want people to look at things... you put all these different things in all these different manufactures car, your bound to have repeats of them in the future... i dont care what artistic freak you are... and im artistic and a freak... isnt it great!
I think the car looks good as is, but if i do get it, i would probably redo the doors or something... i have to see it in person first to make my judgement... you people need to look at the bigger picture or gonna live a normal average lifestyle that the companies want you to live... me personally... im no robot, nor am i a number...

I saw a commercial with it and a corvette that had me rolling. The cobalt bumps the vette a few times, meanwhile the narrator talks about siblings stuff... then the corvette gets pissed off and roars.............
Aww vuck it. I can explain, but it was a good laugh IMO.

I was thinking of the same thing while reading all these. In the ad the vette got pissed off after the cobalt kept on bumping its behind so it turned 180 degree and turned on its lights at the cobalt.

At first it looked like a commercial for the new vette (no flip headlights), but it ended up being one for cobalt. I think the idea is to present a naughty little younger brother of the vette.

The 2005 Saturn ION is getting revamped, but still, the Cobalt is a better car overall. That goes for Equinox > VUE as well.

GM: Trash Saturn and don't look back.
Don't trash Saturn, just keep using it as a test bed.

If there had been no Ion and Vue, the first generation Cobalt and Equinox would probably be a lot worse than they are.

If GM needs a niche brand to use as a springboard for new ideas, that's fine with me.

Whoa. I didn't even think of that. Cobalt and Equinox are more 'volume' than the Saturns. This is what they're doing. Still, I'm not about putting ugly crap on the roads. h:

Saturn as a test bed?

If there had been no Opel Vectra, there wouldn't have been an Saturn L series and whatever next midsize they're going to bring out that will be assembled in the same plant as the new Malibu sold now.

And then how would you explain the badge engineered Relay minivan. What about the Saturn roadster that will be release that is based on the Pontiac Solsetice.

I'm not trying to claim Saturn is always the Chevy test bed. I'm just saying that if GM wants to keep Saturn around, maybe it should be. Otherwise, there's no point.

The only real thing Saturn has going for it is the better than usual dealership treatment compared to other GM brands in the same price range. That's something GM should probably keep, too.

really the only saving grace Saturn has had over the past 10 years is its salesmanship...similar to what i think of Carmax you get a low price and you don't have to haggle - a major concern of most buyers

the vue has been a psuedo success but it has already had a major safety recall from the collapsing tire and several people have been injured...now the honda v6 equipped vue may also be recalled b/c the frame is bucking from the power
