Well... it definately looks better than the truck it's a knock off of.

Um... yeah. That's about it. :dunno:

So basically it's a TrailBlazer EXT/Envoy XL with a Saab front end on it. I dunno how I like Saab's brand image being diluted so much with this and the 9-2X as a mildly Saabified WRX. It would be nice if GM were able to stick to exclusive in-house designs or at least platform-engineered models that don't share any panels with other cars like how Ford handled the Volvo XC90 and S40/V50. How hard could it have been to spin an SUV off the 9-3 which is already built on the global GM Epsilon platform, and to make a small entry-level car off the Delta platform? The new Volvo models are instantly recognizable as Volvos, whereas the new Saabs are instantly recognized as a Subaru and a Chevrolet.

I think that GM is seeing SUVs as the only way to increase Saab sales quickly in the short term. A Saab 9-7 allows GM to amortize the cost of developing the Trailblazer/Envoy platform and engines faster. In addition, the profit margins are likely to be significantly greater on this vehicle than an Epsilon-based mini-ute. As a former Saab fan, I don't like this more than anyone else. However, I think the 9-7 will have some sales success and bring more people into Saab showrooms. Besides, GM can always use this as Saab's XC90 fighter.

Although its based upon the corporate GM midsize suv platform, it should differ greatly and feature higher quality materials as well as a very different look altogether. Also Saab is currently the fastest growing European automobile and thats after cutting various forms of their models.

Mitsubishi was "the fastest growing Japanese car company" for a while and their cars all still suck. Plus, Saab didn't exactly have to do much to sell many times over what they did in the past.

 That's not saying much when they still struggle to make a profit and most of their 'growth', no wait, all of their growth is based on one model. :fawk:

SRX is on a separate platform based off the CTS's modified Sigma platform.

The Isuzu Accenture is another TB rehash.
