I looked at the dimensions of assorted SUVs and the closest one to it is the Infiniti FX except the FX is longer than even the X5. So think of it as about the same size as an FX with the bumpers chopped off.

Odd that BMW would have the X3 so close in size to the X5. I think that the X3 will be a hit, but it will likely eat up some of the 3.0X5 sales.

it's very possible the x5 will loose some sales but bmw will have to increase the size of the X5.

until recently the vehicle with the most cargo capacity made by bmw was the E39 5 series wagon (passenger vehicle wise).

It's more like X4.5 The X5 is much better looking though.

I like it. I think it will do well for BMW and that the next X5 may be larger.

I wonder when the X7 is going to come along. If BMW did such a nice job on the Range Rover, I'd like to see what they can do on a high end SUV of their own.

On the other hand, I'd like to see a M7 first.

I heard the X7 was canceled. The next X5 is going to be bigger anyway so I don't think BMW needs an even bigger SUV. Also I doubt there will ever be a M7. The 7 series has always stood for luxury not really sport but we'll see.
