I am debating buying a MDX or a Pilot Ex Loaded. The price differnece is $5000. The Acura looks alittle better, but will I get my money back on resale, 6 years from now?

Any opinions?

If you don't want to be overly flashy, the Pilot will be just fine. Some people just like the flash of Acura though, and that's ok. Both have outstanding resale value. Isn't the MDX going to be replaced first though?

You have to decide if the MDX has what you want to justify the 5k price difference. It has 17" wheels and the Pilot has 16", the MDX seats 7 while the Pilot seats 8 both can be fitted with factory DVD players as well as navigation. You might want to wait for the all new 07 MDX. If you can get a killer deal on an 06 MDX then go for it but in my opinion the Pilot would be my choice for the sake of the price difference and options to me that dont justify the higher price for the MDX and besides the Pilot is not due for a major overhaul until 09 so the current body style will be around for some time.

The MDX does not really have any advantages over the Pilot. I would buy the Pilot because it takes regular gas instead of premium. Both same size with same features. You will spend 5K for Acura service.
