There's no recall on the oil change fire issue, at factory training they said most of the vehicles that caught fire were oil changes done at jiffylube type places. They think that the first filters installed somehow don't hold on to the gasket when taken off, maybe overtightened at the factory?? After the first change, they haven't seen a problem so they say.

The compressor thing I've seen on a couple. I see bad tranny range switches 02-up
I see bad TPS sensors cause the vehicle to not come out of park. 02-up
The first gen's were worse 97-01 the main thing on those was the cylinder head seats were made to soft and the valves will recess into the head so far you can't adjust the valves into spec. This causes the thing to have hard starting, dies, low idle, misfire codes. I did two heads out of warrenty last month that cost the customer 4500+ to fix. The rear diff in the real time 4wd models howl if you don't change the fluid as recommended, if it's not done when it howls you end up replacing it.97-01
Rear sway bar links snap 97-01
dipstick tube comes out of block 97-01

There has been no recall as of yet. The NHTSA is still investigating. For the second time.

They ride so high that you can't see around them when you get stuck behind one.
