What's the most common problem that arises in CR-V's?

Model year would help too.

i would say suttin here, but i might get quoted for "misinformation" but i'm pretty sure that people hate the restrictions that a k-series puts on towing stuff behind this mini-ute

I liked the engine fires experienced on the 04 CRV if the old oil filter seal wasn't removed before putting the new one on.

yep, thats exactly what i was gun say too.. god forbid i was wrong tho, lol

Engine fire?! OMG! My parents own a 2004 CR-V!

sherwood Dec 4, 2004 09:14 AM

yea, they were linked with oil changes or suttin to do with a loose oil filter, so you might wanna check the oil filter, or better yet, have your mechanic check it out when you go to get your oil changed.

Just don't take it to Walmart or Jiffy lube for an oil change. Just make sure that the old o-ring is pulled off the block before the new filter is put on there. I am sure if there was a problem, it already would have started fire. Don't worry and be all paranoid but just be aware that this is a problem and there was a recall issued. Contact your dealer to get more details if you are that concerned.

Since my father changes the oil, what should I tell him?

A/c compressors lock up alot. This is on newer ones.

Tell him to make sure the seal is completely removed before putting the new filter on.
