Insight Swaps??
It woudl require a lot of work. Owing an Insight, I think there is enough room to possily fit something bigger in there, but it would take so very much custom fabricating. The Insight was purpose built from the ground up for one thing, fuel economy. Your better off going with an older CRX more than anything. Nothing is made for the Insight and I doubt there ever will be.

I'd say it would be impossible to get anything in there that's worth putting in there. What are you gonna do. Spent 10 grand to put a d16 in there so you can have 127HP. B series engines are a tight fit in Civics. It's just not gonna happen. If you want a fast car I'll trade my 94 Integra GSR for your insight any day. Insights are tight.
If someone can somehow keep the electric motor assist, and swap in a H22, the Insight will be one fast car. But I seriously doubt a H22 can fit in there though, maybe a CRVtec could work.
Come on, the guy w/ too much money, do this swap.

Well, I've heard of some shop in California buying an Insight for a project. I know this because I've talked with a guy who bought some parts off of the car. He doesn't even know if they ever got it done.
As far as keeping the electric assist, the problem would be in the engine control. I believe there is a total of like 12 computers controlling the car. If one senses something wrong (like the wrong engine being there), I highly doubt it would let the IMA work.
Also, working around those high voltages that the motor uses is no something to be under taken by the ill educated. It will stop your heart.
