I have an 87 legend 4 dr with a 2.5 liter motor that has a blown head gasket. I found another engine but want to know if it is interchangeable. the motor that i found in a 2.7 liter out of a 90 legend coupe. Will the 90 2.7 liter engine work in place of the 2.5 literwith out changimg the ECU? please help.

As I understand it the 90 2.7 and the 87 2.5 have different ECU's and different TCU's so if you were to swap you would have to swap the computers and the engine harness' too. Most people don't think it is worth the hassle.
