A/C Problems 92 Legend
The a/c clutch went out on my Legend so I replaced it. I checked the new clutch to make sure it engages when power is put to it. It works, but, now that I've installed it I discovered that there is no electricity getting to the compressor. The climate control system in the car seems to be working fine and the blower comes on when I turn it on. I can't find any fuses for the a/c system or relays to check. Where are they and what could be the problem. Thanls.

Let me get this straight, with the new coil on the compressor you have not power coming in from the wiring harness to the coil? What happened to the original coil? Did you shim the new coil onto the compressor with the proper air gap? Assuming you did and you have no power coming into the circuit at the compressor, I would check the fuses. I have seen coil's short out causing the fuse to get blown and after replacing the coil nothing works still (sound familar?) The fuses for a legend of that year are in the underhood fuse box and the underdash fusebox i believe. If that doesn't work you could check relays. The relays are under the hood in a box on the driver's side I believe and under the pass, side floorboard under the glove box. I would at least check the fuses first then jump some relays.

also i know the relay boxes are in the engine compartment. the passegner side and driver side and the front of the motor. which relays do i look for if they are damaged and preventing power going to the compressor. i did a light tester and the triple sitch is fine but somwhere after the triple switch im losing power to the compressor. in need of help. thnx

Not 100% sure on this but if I remember right, the compressor will not start if there isn't enough pressure in the system from the R134a. So you may want to check to make sure you have the minimum pressure which I believe is somewhere in the 20-25 lb area on the low pressure side.
