96 RL timing belt - ever put one on?
I't getting close to time to replace my timing belt (78k). I know I have some life left in it, but I want to be prepared when the time comes to replace it. I figure it can't be too hard, but I'd like to get some opinions. Also, how many miles are people generally going before replacement?
I believe it's 105k on your car. If your a newb or not taking apart engines everyday i wouldn't recommend doing it yourself. It's not the same as a civic or teg. It takes me around 4 hours to do one and I've probably done over a hundred t belts on rl's and legends that have similar engines. There is alot that can go wrong
Definately not a newb but have not really done anything to "this" car. A tech manual would be great to do a little pre-surgery research. Anyone have anything they could scan and e-mail to me?? Man, that would help alot. Or, who has the best manual..Chiltons, Haynes, etc?
hondatech, can you give me a little insight on what could go wrong. Thanks in advance and thanks for your reply

Yeah later today I'll try to send you a pdf if i can find one on it. It's alot of work and if you are not careful it means breaking the engine or doing it all over again. i'll post more when i find that pdf
