i have a 89 legend thats needs a motor. i got the motor last week and am about to start the swap. i got a question for the gurus. do you have to pull the engine and tranny in one peice or can the motor be pulled without removing the tranny too. thanks.
look, i pull from the bottom. i do engines in these about twice a year, these cars are pretty good as with most hondas. I think it's easier doing an engine swap. when it's out you can swap out your old and new parts and it's easier to get to. I pull it out with the sub frame and everything.
thanks for the info, man. i can still pull the engine from the top right? i dont have a hydro lift or i would pull from the bottom. thanks again.

I have had my engine replaced twice on a 91 legend. Both times it came out from the bottom transmission and all. The service manual tells you to do it that way. I [U]would not recommend taking out from the top. Good Luck.
