Default engine removal

i have a 89 legend thats needs a motor. i got the motor last week and am about to start the swap. i got a question for the gurus. do you have to pull the engine and tranny in one peice or can the motor be pulled without removing the tranny too. thanks.

anyone? also does the motor have to come out the bottom or can you pull it out from the top? please hit me back.

look, i pull from the bottom. i do engines in these about twice a year, these cars are pretty good as with most hondas. I think it's easier doing an engine swap. when it's out you can swap out your old and new parts and it's easier to get to. I pull it out with the sub frame and everything.

thanks for the info, man. i can still pull the engine from the top right? i dont have a hydro lift or i would pull from the bottom. thanks again.

I have had my engine replaced twice on a 91 legend. Both times it came out from the bottom transmission and all. The service manual tells you to do it that way. I [U]would not recommend taking out from the top. Good Luck.
