Default operating temp

my car when i am on the highway runs a little past the cold mark. about 1/6th of the gauge, and when i am aroung town it goes up just a little more. i was kinda thinkin that was low and maybe it should be higher. what should it be at?

every on i have been in that hasnt been altered stays just to the left of halfway. does your car take a while to warm up?

As long as you engine is below half way it should be normal. Usually integras are always above the quarter and below the middle.

not true. i'd say that, for the integra, anything below 1/3rd is abnormal and should be looked at.

perhaps your thermostat is sticking open?

it takes a while to warm up - 5 mins then it pretty much stays less that a 1/5 of the gauge and doesnt go up anymore unless i'm sitting parked at idle for like 30 mins.

not really. A healthy engine needs to operate at a certian temperature in order for clean combustion and proper operation of the smog equipment.
