Default ITR Springs

A recent thread got me wondering about an inexpensive suspension setup. I found a set of springs from a 2001 ITR for $50. However, after reading the results from my H-A.NET search it seems bolting ITR springs on my existing OEM shocks wouldn't be the most beneficial handling characteristics.

What are my cost effective choices that you could recommend?

Then again, I found a set of ITR springs w/ ITR shocks for $175.

Thanks.

ITR shocks are not compatible with your rear lower control arms.

Ah, good to know. What shocks might you recommend for ITR springs?

From my understanding the springs will fit fine and the ride is sutible with OEM shocks?

Any one else have an opinion?

If you found ITR shocks/springs for $175, I'd purchase, then also purchase ITR lower control arms. Swap them out, install the suspension, and have yourself a productive suspension that doesn't cost bucket loads of money!!

drumsy,

I found 'em for close to the price you listed. But I wouldn't have a clue what ITR lower control arms are going for. I was thinking of going with ITR springs/OEM shocks (for now), ITR rear sway bar, and eventually (thinking early Spring 04) getting some lightweight Rota's and beefy tires.

Thoughts on that?

That's an excellent setup for starters. Many ITR owners I know choose to not upgrade their stock suspension, as there is so much of a difference between the GSR and ITR. If you can afford them, and know how to install or have someone install them, you'll be doing your car a big favor!

im using ITR springs on my KYB AGX shocks. the right height is perfect and the ride isnt too harsh, since the shocks are adjustable.

i havent gotten a chance to really go all out on my suspension...but :dunno: i also have an ITR rear sway bar.
