my speedo is accurate up to 118.
MY 98 GSR would get to 130 pretty easily, 130 to 150 was very slow getting there. I have a 99 GSR now and it will do 150. As long as you have a good long hwy with hardly no curvs. Hell me and my buddie average 130-150 mph up interstate 75 comming back from the Nopi Nats.
after 100 your speedo starts to go off, and as you go faster it goes way way way off. I was sitting with my buddy in his BMW m3 at 140 when he got hit by a radar (undercover camaro). the cop clocked us at 126. the speedo was giving a false reading, 14mph difference. And that's in a BMW, In germany there are no speed limits on the autobahn. so you would assume that a BMW's speedo would be a little more accurate than any other car.
I don't know about the whole "accurate because of the autobahn" statement, that's like saying no one in the US is jobless because this is the land of opportunity. After all, a host of BMWs come from a plant in North Carolina, so I guess the autobahn theory goes out the window. Generally though, speedos are off by about 4-6%, so naturally, the difference between actual and indicated speed will increase as you go faster.
