Default shifter/linkage whatever problems

Okay so my car wouldn't go into reverse gear at all (its manual) gy tells me go under car disconnect it from transmission the shaft blah blah. Okay i do and i don't understand what the hell i was suppose to do i'm seriously getting sooooooo MAD i want to burn this car to hell. He made no sense on what im looking at with ym car now. I cant shift with that rod disconnected from the damn transmission that owuld mean it just drops down not letting oyu shift ....and not having it on at all makes the shifter just look disconnected...i have no idea what he was trying to tell me he made no sense the mechanic guy i kno. oh well if u read this and understand maybe help...i'm gonna sell this car if i dont get help

If it won't go into reverse, it's probably the tranny, not the shift linkage. Try double clutching and see if that helps.

it's most likely the tranny that's causing this. disconnecting the shift linkage won't help any.. :thinking:

it's possible that you have a clutch problem also. when's the last time you had your clucth changed? and do you have a hard time to put the car in gear?

try to keep pushing the clutch in and out while moving the shifter in other gears then to reverse... good luck :thumbup:
