Default integra gsr engine smoke?

I bought a 98 Integra GSR and when I got it home is was leaking oil. Jiffy Lube left the filter a little loose and some oil leaked onto whatever is under it ( I think is was part of the exhaust). When I drive my car noe I can smell something burning from under the hood and sometimes smoke will come from where the oil leaked. It has been a couple of months and is still doing it. The car runs great though. Can anyone help me? I'm getting like 20 miles to the gallon so could the smoke be something more serious? Thanks.

i'd try to pinpoint exactly where the burning is coming from first.

If it's still doing it, then either you didn't tighten the filter all the way down, or something else is still leaking. If you narrow down the smell and look of the smoke, maybe we can help you find the location of the leak!

if it has been goin for more then 2 days after then you need to look for oil around seals and then check to be sure the oil filter is atleast hand tight because if it is not then you will most definently be leaking oil. check to be sure there is only one oring for the oil filter. two will create a leak.

The filter is tight and I'm not leaking oil. THe level stays pretty constant. The color of the smoke is grey. It doesn't billow off the motor but is noticable when the hood is open. I shift higher than 3 grand, is that a problem? Around 4 to 6 grand most of the time. Thanks for everyone's time.

I hate to ask a stupid question, but does this smoke still smell specifically of burnt oil?

I know this is a total left-field thing, but watch your coolant level... Just a random idea if your oil level is not dropping, but coolant steam looks grey-white, and I dunno... just seems like something to check if there's nothing else obvious...

sounds like coolant or left over oil. and the reason why u get poor gas mileage is because you are driving with spirit.

Could be time for a fuel injection service too, judging by your mileage. I get 22-24 and I whale on my car.

Also, if you're getting bad milage, I'd also check about the last times you replaced the air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs....
