Default GS-R noise around 3krpm

Hey guys, im very new to these cars. I just got mine yesterday, its a all stock 5spd perfect white gsr, its got moon roof leather and only 55k on it.

I am learning to drive stick and i am noticing around 3k in 1st and 2nd gear ESPECIALLY there is a kind of loud rattling noise then if i go up in rpm it pretty much goes away i think, and in like 4th gear it doesnt do it.

My dad says it might be the vtec but neither of us really know. The car was bought from a great dealer and we have full warrenty so please let me know if you know this is normal or if this is a problem.

Thanks homies!!

PEACE

Check your heat shields. There's two pairs of shields under the car near the tranny and the pass. compartment. The fastening nuts rust out.

What it is happening is that either the heatshield on the exhaust is rattling, or the A-pipe in the header is rattling... Neither one will kill your car, and both are fixable...

If it's the heatshield... Then go ahead either bend it so it isn't vibrating or remove it entirely... it wont hurt unless you plan to periodically park your car in tall grasses...

If it's the header (What happened to my car) then you can either replace it, or have someone wield it back together on the inside... I chose to just replace it with an aftermarket header... worked like a charm!

Amen... VTEC engages at 4400 RPM, and you can really head it when the second runners open up at 5600 RPM

i bet you get right at 2250 and 2750 = thats where i got it. Like said before its most likely in the header or the lil heatshield attached to it.

I used to have a weird noise at about 3400 RPM. It turned out that it was a broken weld in the header. There was a recall for it and I had it repaired for nothing by an Acura dealer.
