Default Bog down in third and fourth

I drive a 1996 acura integra LS special. Its modified with a few things like intake, exhaust, throttle body, and a few other goodies. I have plenty of pickup and power in 1st and 2nd, but I want it to not bog down as much in 3rd and 4th. Other than using NOS in third to give it a kick in the ass (and hopefully carry it to a win), what would be the best modification to keep my car revving quickly in 3rd and 4th? I'm planning on turbo charging it this summer (thats why I'm using the LS engine), so a turbo isn't what I'm looking for right now. I've heard good things about the LS/VTEC monster; however, I don't want to go that direction unless there is no other way.

Are you shifing at a low rpm? If you are shifing at redline and it still bogs then you may have a problem.

Not bog as in extremly slow, just not accelerate as much in 3rd and 4th. To keep my car's speed up, I need to get my revs alot faster through 3rd and 4th.

You can try a lightened flywheell...keep you rpms above 4k if you don't want it to 'bog' as much.

thanks for the help. I'll look into a lightweight flywheel. What's a good brand name to start out looking for? I was thinking of doing my clutch anyway, so I could do em both at the same time I think... (never worked on frontwheel drive)

If you have the $$, you should install the LSD while you are at it too. ::thumbsup::

Fidanza is a good make for flywheel!!, thats what i got.

as for tranny, if you like short gears B16a tranny will keep the car up high in the revs, wont bog down. the downside is that you loose some of your hiway fuel economy. the upside is that it will launch alot better in first!
