hey guys, i just got my new ACT HDSS ( heavy duty clutch) put in tonight, and it drives real nice....I do like the clutch.... it grabs very hard...but i was suprised i cant chirp 3rd gear with it.. only 2nd

but anyway should i be a bit disapointed that i didnt get the XTSS (Xtreme clutch) I just have an LS with basic boltons..my buddy who put my HDSS in told me that I should have gotten the XTSS...and that even though the pressure is stiffer then the HDSS you get used to it... Would I have regretted getting the XTSS??? You guys think i made the right choice in putting in the HDSS??

 

You do know that chirping isn't the greatest thing in the world when you're trying to go fast right? And you made the right choice by not getting the XTSS...it's notorious for breaking axles and causing tranny problems. You made a bad choice however by ripping on that clutch before it's broken in...hopefully you didn't glaze the clutch disc.

 

ive only gotten on it probably about 4 times....

so i dont think so.....but what does it mean if i did, and how will i know....and how long is the breakin period

 

Break in period is a minimum of 250 miles of city driving, stop and go...without riding the clutch, launching, hard shifting, or hard acceleration. If you glazed the disc, it'll start to slip.
