Default stupid icebox question

ok, im sure i posted this question last week...but it is gone, maybe it was too stupid for the moderators to allow it to live.

anyway, i ordered the icebox, it shipped out yesterday.
i am using my stock intake+ the ice box.

i just realized that i probably should have ordered the comptech filter, and i plan on it or the k&n very soon.

my question: will i be able to use the icebox with my stock filter untill the comptech/k&n arrives?

Yes, you can use your stock filter with the Icebox until you get a new one.

I am a rookie here too... but...

why is the comptech icebox so special?

Why use it on the stock intake?

I checked my intake box, and it seems that there's a tube attached to it that is sucking air behind the turn light.
That's the original intake box too.

I thought the point of the icebox was that you can adapt it on the comptech short ram intake. So what the point using it with the stock intake pipe?

well you have the benefit of cold air, without all the bends and crevices from the stock intake
it also will not be prone to hydrolock like other CAI style intakes

well, I understand that's the benefit of using it with the Comptech shortram intake, but why using it with the stock intake pipe, when you know that the stock box suck the air right underneath the car as well.

The stock air box takes air from inside the engine compartment. Thats how it is in my rs. It doesn't not taken in air from the turn signal.
