is it necessary to get new gaskets when installing new headers? im tryin to order some greddy headers also, but is their a difference in 94-99 to 2000-2001 integra? i've been seeing alot of advertisments with these year differences. i thought all 3 gen fit the same.

it would be a good idea the use new gaskets when installing a header. as for the differences, do a search, there was a thread about that.

 

i used the same one and i didnt have any leaks.

 

i tried the search but its cofusing b/c it not to the point about why they offer it for 94-99 and 2000-2001. im just wondering b/c i find alot of header deals but they advertise for 94-99. i have a 2001 and dont want to make a mistake

 

94-99 have different a-pipes from 00-01

 

like asian said, the length of the a-pipe is different (it puts the catalytic converter in a different position) between the years. As for header gaskets... you don't have to necessarily replace them if you had a copper gasket, well shot down with a sealant. Those gaskets are engineered with an integral spring architecture, and because of that, tend to rebound to their natural state. That being said... its 25 bucks for a new one and five bucks for a can of CopperKote sealant. Necessary? No, but for that price you might as well.

 

i would just buy a new gasket to be safe, u never know wut could happn if u use your old gasket, i know this wouldnt work on an exhaust application, but before my dad died we always used to work on the gas guzzlers like 350's SB 440's and such and instead of spending money on new gaskets for like heads, we would use a high stress sealant, i forgot wut the exact name of it wus but its perma- sumthing maybe perma-seal im not sure, ..................just tryin to help

 

here are the difference between years:

 

Buy a new gasket. Saving $10 isn't worth it if you have to take it apart 5,000 miles later.
