I ordered a set of 4 struts for my 95 teg ls. 2 front and 2 rear. I also ordered a set of kyb agx adjustible shocks. Im beginning to wonder if i need the struts, because in the title of the kyb shocks it said they were "shock/struts" I know all of you guys know the answer to this. A wuick response would be great cause i could save alot of money.

 

correct me if i'm wrong, but i think they usually to the shock absorbers as shocks or struts. i've heard both. so you may have ordered too many things. my understanding of things is that the strut or shock has the coil spring over it, which one end is bolted to the top of the wheel well, and the other is attached to the suspension arm which the wheel is on. so go with the kyb adjustables. what kind were the other 4 that you ordered? if you need to sell a set, let me know.

 

they are megan struts, i have already paid for them. Is it good to have both shocks and struts? If i do not need them, 0r if they do not work to my advantage i would sell them reasonably.

 

you only need one set of 4 shocks(same thing as struts). So you should sell or cancel one set of them. Now all you need is a set of springs.

 

i thought struts were bars that attached the two front/rear wheels together? do shocks do that?

 

strut bars is a bar that attaches to the top of shock/strut. regardless shocks and struts serve the same function, so you essentially bought two of the same thing.

 

so there is no advantage to having shocks and 4 strut bars? If no, IS ANYONE INTERESTED IN BUYING 4 NEW STRUTS?
