put down some cash and mod your car then... afterawhile a gutted cat will help out but don't use a testpipe. they are loud, illegal, stink, and are bad for the enviorment and since its your car so you will be breathing most of those toxinnns that can cuase cancer sooooo don't buy one

A gutted cat will have all of the negative effects of a test pipe, but it may actually cause a decrease in hp as well, if there's too much turbulence.

Get a Random Tech or a Carsound. They cost more, but they do the job and do the job legally.

 

i wouldn't advise running test pipe on the street or daily but it is the best in my book for the strip, and yea a gutted cat wont give you the straight through flow of a test pipe, it also sounds raspy, my stock one was clogged, gutted it for a while, then bought random, i have a test pipe as well but it stinks so bad, thought i would be a smarty and just gut half the stock one and get half the filterage of the stock one,no good, the catalyst broke completly up then worried me about blowing threw and clogging the muff.
