JRSC supporting mods
You all may have heard this b4 but i am a rich kid and i just got a GSR (dont ask y ). The thing is a 2001 and i got about 17Grand 2 spend. I already looked at differnt types of forced induction and desided that i want the JRSC wit the complete boost upgrade bc of its simplicity and i want dependebility. Now here is the question. I want 2 make around 300hp on this motor while still keepin bottom end and not really tearin down the block, What do u all think would b the best upgrades 4 my goal. And can u include things like Manufacturers names.
dude i have always loved the GSR and i have been resaerchin about it 4 a good year. I dont want somethin big and flashy. And besides when i say rich i dont mena like million dollar a yera rich, talkin more like 450,000. can u just help wit my question, its not that hard of one neways
That might actually be really damn tough. Well, maybe not... but are you shooting for 300hp at the crank or 300whp?
According to JRSC themselves, you can get about 209whp on a GS-R with 6.5 lbs boost. Maybe if you up the boost to like 10lbs, and do a whole lot of engine management (Hondata all the way), with a hytech supercharger header and like a 2.5~3" exhaust (Hytech of smsp), you could hit like 250-275 whp, but 300 might be a little much for a supercharger. If you really want numbers like that without tearing your block and wallet apart, turbo might be your best bet.
That kind of monster, though, would not be smog legal if you're in CA... well, if you find a shady shop, then it could be
but it would be a little iffy...
But, as I understand it, more than 250 whp on an integra does not make a good daily driver. I think that would be a better goal...

300whp on a JRSC? You're better off with a turbo, but here are some threads that may help:

Oh, and what could be better than information from a long-time JRSC owner himself?
Since you seem to be well off, replace the Kamikaze/Carsound/Exhaust combo above with a full Hytech custom system (header/Renault Cat/Catback).

ps. Attempting 300whp on 12psi with a JRSC will net you some real heat issues...

Heres your method for mayhem:
OBD1 GSR
JRSC
Hondata 2B Boost
Hondata intake manifold gasket
Kamikaze 2.5" header
Carsound 2.5" Cat
2.5" Exhaust
JR Boost upgrade pulley, CRV pulley, whetever floats your boat to get you to 8-9PSI.
3" Short Ram Intake
With the proper tuning, you shouldnt have a problem hitting 250whp with that setup.
In terms of getting that power to the ground....
Definitely a nice clutch (ACT HDSS)
Nice tires (whatever you can afford, Kumho 712's to Falken Azenis' to Toyo T1-S to Bridgestone S-03's etc etc)
Good suspension (again, this is all preference)
Just in terms of making power...the above equation can net you 250whp without nitrous...add a small 25 shot and you're definitely in business...

Expect to pay a premium, mainly cause they're custom hand-made works of art. I think a good price estimat for the headers could be between 1-1.5K
