Yes your ls trans will work. All b series engines and transmissions will interchange

are you sure it did damage to your pistons? if not you might get out cheaper buying a v-tec head and doing a hybrid swap, but i just went through this and you'll probably come out cheaper doing a straight up swap, just curious, how much did you get a b18c for? i just swaped a jspec b18b to replace my timing belt tortured ls

You can use your old GSR trans... it's unlikely it was damaged.

LS trannies are good for 3 things.

1. mileage
2. turbo equipped engines
3. slowing down otherwise stock vtec engines

I remember hearing from an old place i used to go to, this guy blew his LS engine, and got a type R motor, but didnt have enough money for the ITR tranny, so he just bolted it up to his LS tranny. The new engine was significantly slower than his PREVIOUS setup with the LS motor. Those damn LS gears are too tall. Something like he was running high 15s with his LS, and with the new setup it was like higher 15's low 16s....the gears were so tall, it would go out of vtec after a redline shift. if i dont make sense i'm sorry, i just woke up.

ok now i read this on hv. a guy has a set up on his del sol -Engine:
º LS 1.8L bottom end
º PWR Aluminum radiator and FAL fan
º B16A VTEC head
º JE 9:1 turbo pistons
º Crower rods
º Iron sleeves
º GSR cams/valves & Type R dual valvesprings
º STR cam gears
º MSD 6A ignition
º Greddy E-manage & Profec e-01 EBC
º T3/T04e turbo .57 A/R
