The Bi/Pass Valve won't work unless your whole filter is submerged in water I know that much. Not sure if the whole filter has to be underwater for it to suck up water. He could have just gone through it fast enough where a large amount of water shot up into the filter??
hmm is that a fact?? I've been hearing two different things.. One.. it DOES have to be submerged to hydrolock.. and the other would be

I don't know if its a fact, I was just taking a guess because he said he drove through the puddle and if there was a ton of water then a large amount of water could have definetly shot up into the filter and it sucked it in. But thats just my guess.
