do throttle bodies work
do throttle bodies really help and if so then what do they help and is it worth the money to spend on one.(i have a 98 integra with a self fabricated cai and aerospeed exhaust)
From what my friends have told me they said it helped with the mid-high range. I've yet to have 1st hand experience because I'm in the same situation as you are (is it really worth the 350(new)/175(JG bored+exchange). I think my money is better spent somewhere else...
Going with the option of getting your stock one bored out is probably worth it but I won't be able to deal with not having a car for the 1-2 weeks it takes to get it back from the machine shop. And buying a used one from someone will be costly too [used one 100~ + 175(JG bored+exchange)].
Now finding someone who already has a used bored out throttle body might be the best option but you have to consider the risks. Why are they selling it, do you trust the person they got it bored from, the list goes on.

Well this is sort off topic but.. One of the guys that I know bought a used bored out LS throttle body from my brother in law the other day and had him install it. They put it on the guys 93 Si motor and took it for a test drive. My brother in law and him both said that you could feel the difference. And knowing where my brother in law stands, I believe him. They only have a low 14 to high 13 sec CRX, but what do they know.. Right??.. (exaggerating)....
So yeah, I believe it does help.. But to a certain degree only. Without a porting job done to the IM and head themselves, it might not do much..

A properly matted throttle body does provide gains, but you can't just stick a large throttle body on a bolt-on car.
If you get to big of a throttle body, it probably will feel like smoother throttle at lower rpms, but its going to kill your midrange.
The whole intake path has to be designed to your engines output (or future output). Which is intake -> TB -> intake manifold runner -> cylinder head ports -> exhaust manifold -> exhaust
