I think any intake would be best suited as part of a complete bolt on upgrade including high-flow cat, headers, and exhaust and so forth. Even then, I've read mixed reviews regarding how much usable power the intake itself provides.

Look up what a Helmoltz Resonator is before claiming BS. The V2 CAI uses sound engineering principles, not ricer :bs: ....

And no, I don't own one. No I haven't driven a Teg with one. So I'm not defending a personal investment. Not tryng to flame, but people in general ought to do some research before forming iron-clad opinions.

How can it be "just a heatshield" if the Cone filter is mounted to the bigger diameter piping? Look closer to the pics guys, you'll see what i'm talking about.

As for that sound engineering and frequency stuff, I wouldnt doubt AEM's R&D team. Those guys know a thing or two more than the average joe.

So basically if you dont have a CAI its worth it but if you do its a waste of time? :wiggle:

Just put one on the car yesterday and it was a bit different than any other cold air I've put on in the fact that you do have to change a motor mount to a thinner one that comes with the V2 intake. I noticed an improvement all around and definitely no loss in the lowend. Excellent quality and fit. We hadn't sold any to anyone local to check them out so we figured we'd put one on our GSR. Sounds nice too of course.

Bonzo, I've been trying to get time to chill with my friend Lindsey, she's got one in her GSR. I want to let you guys know how it compares to the Icebox or the old AEM.

That would be great. I am interested to see how it is compared to the icebox since that is my other choice.

if you have to swap out motor mounts 4 a freakin exuast thats is really ghey! most of you have intake tubes already if you are going to spend 200 bucks to gain an extra 2 h.p. your really stupid... an intake is only going to do sooo much. what about a bored t.b. or skunk2 manifold or somthing else to help your engine breath....

i got an rs akimoto and it more then does the job with my k&n air filter
