Default Check Engine Light On? Help!!!!

Looking for any help on a problem I am having with my 92 Integra. The check engine light comes on and stays on after the car warms up. If I shut the car off and start it up comes back on within minutes of driving. I test the car's code and I get a code 12 one long and 2 short flashes which is Egr Valve. I go to the Acura dealer and $170 later I put this new Egr on the car. Pull the backup fuse and remove the negative cable from the battery. Start the car up wait 10 minutes for it to run get behind the wheel and start to drive and the check engine light comes on after I drive 100 feet. Did I do something wrong or is it something else. I test for the code again and I still get a code 12. I am wondering if anyone might be able to help fix this problem the car has 153,000 miles on it. Had a tuneup 10,000 miles ago or one year ago. All acura parts Plugs, wires, O2 sensor, FueL Filter, cap rotar, I mean a full tuneup. I am trying to sell the car as I just bought a new Honda Accord coupe in May and I had someone who was going to buy the car soon as I can fix the check engine light problem. So if anyone can be of any help I would appreciate any advice. I hope I have left enough info about the car and problem.

Thanks Joe

well you did everything to clear the code correctly...

you said:

Do you shut off the car after running for 10 minutes, then restart it? Or do you just hop in and start driving?

I hop in and while the car has been running after 10 minutes and drive. Should I shut it off and then start it back up? Thanks for your reply and the info and if you have any other info to help I would appreciate it. Thanks Joe

I'd recommend shutting it off, then restarting.

oh and you only have to pull the back-up fuse and leave it out for 10 seconds.
