87 integra vs 2003 nissan SE-r
hey guys this guy i know he wont stop buggin me on to race him .. i have a 87 teg 5speed with cold air and a few others things. and he is a AUTO sentra se-r wut u guys thing? go for it or nah.. he just wants to take me off the line.. but i was reading some where and heard some one talkin about like the SE-r has 175hp but when Sport compact car mag put it on the DYNO it only came up with 141hp is this true? could it be possible for a car company to say 175 and it be only 141? thanks guys.. for the help in advance..
IMO I think you'd get your ass handed to you
All cars lose horsepower from the crank to the wheels. When they sell a car to you, they tell you about the crank HP. From there, you have all sorts of powerlosses in the form of transmission friction, wheel weight, bering friction, etc.
Hondas on average lose somthing like 13% of their HP through these inefficiencies. While the Sentra SE-R looks to be losing nearly 20% if we're to believe this magazine, the engine also puts down 185lb-ft, which is really, really gonna tear up the poor little B16 you have in your car.
Though, since he DOESN'T has a manual, he can't have the 175 HP engine. The 175 comes in the V-Spec. He must have the regular SE-R, which while it only has 165hp/175lb-ft, will still put some decent power out...
All in all, if would be a friendly race, I'd say "heh, do as you will", but if you think he'll start slandering you and other BS, don't do it. I think you would honestly have a slim chance at winning.

If your buddy knows the accelerator from the brake pedal, he'll pull buslengths on you. Just ignore him and don't let it bother you. The types who "beg" to race usually end up in the hospital sooner or later.
