its a soldered in LED. you have to take the heater/ac control unit out and take it apart

this allows you access to the LED. then you take it to radio shack (or acura) and get a matching led and solder it.

ok, here's an update.

Got the new 194 blue LED bulbs in the speedometer.

A lot bluer of a color than i had before with regular blue glass bulbs, but the light spread isnt as even so i am thinking about buying some glass paint and trying to paint my blue bulbs bluer and see if it works possibly.

And i tried to take my heater console out today.
Took off the switches on the levers for the heat and fan which was easy.
Then I took out the hazard and defrost buttons which was easy.
Got to the two screws behind the buttons out which hold the hole thing in place.

But when I tried to pull the unit out, it wouldnt go more than an inch or so out because the heater levers wouldnt slip out from the holes on console.

So does anyone know where to disconnet these levers so that I can get the hole thing out?

1st: Those aren't 194 bulbs behind the heater controls. They're special made Honda/Acura, bulbs that include the base, that they couldn't even order for me at Autozone/NAPA/Checker/local place. There's 4 of them back there, and the dealer wanted like $18 and a week to ship them in. I said screw that and went to a local Honda/Acura place that had them in stock for $12.

2nd: to get the unit out of the console you have to disconnect the heater slider wire. Get down under the passenger side dasboard and look up towards the center console. There are some white plastic pieces there with some stiff metal wires. The heater control is a mechanical linkage, so slide the heater button back and forth until you figure out which wire you have to remove. Slide the heater control all the way to heat. The wire should just be looped around a plastic post, and it should come off pretty easily. Don't pull the center console too far out or you will have to rethread the wire, which is a *****. I know this sounds a little vague, but you should be able to figure it out.

ah, thanks for the help.
I was told by a few people earlier that it was 194 bulbs, just like how the speedometer had 3 194 bulbs.

The other bulbs, if their LED's or whatnot, I will take out then, and solder in new bulbs in their place.

Yeah, the guys at Checker looked it up and told me they were size 68? bulbs. So I bought some. When I pulled the console out, I was like

The 4 main ones behind the heater were just really small glass-filament bulbs. They weren't LEDs. But they did include the base. I found that out the hard way when I shattered one trying to unscrew it.

hmm....was there any way to get those bulbs outta their bases?

if not, I might just mask it off from the electrical connector parts and use some glass paint on em to paint em blue.
