True. I personally think that turboing your current engine plus a gsr tranny swap would make you haul more ass than an H22 swap.

I imagine it would be cheaper as well.

Hey, I've been a member for a while, but this is my first time posting! I have done many things to my car to exterior wise and when I figure out how to put pics up, I will. But back to my question. I own a 1997 Integra LS automatic and I'm wanting to do some drastic changes to the engine. I was thinking the other day if it was possible to put an H22A Prelude VTEC motor in my car, Turbocharge it, and put a catback exhaust system. Now I just need positive feedback on everything I would need to make it possible along with a manual instead of an auto. I know it's an expensive process, but I like to go all out and be different. So if it's possible to do, please those who know or have experiened with swaps, tell me what all I would need! I hope someone can help me!!! Thanks!
It is possible to put a H22A prelude engine in. It is possible to turbocharge the H22A. It is ideal to go with a manual trany for the numbers you'll be putting down. But you're looking to spend anywhere from 6-10 grand for the whole setup. You sure you want to do that?

He has 2000lb air bags on each side so the suspension would be a problem... i dont think the motor wieghs 4k lbs... but im all for the H22 seein how i will have some part in it and i wanna be there all throughout it... we gonna have 2 of the fastest tegs/rsxs in SC

That's all good for the straight line and all, but with the added weight up front, I imagine your handling will be compromised. Where at in SC are you from? I'm from Greenville(although I'm currently stationed in Virginia).

The fact he has bags already compromises his handling.

Considering the Integra weights ~2,600 with the B-series motor in it, I don't think you need to worry about the engine weighing 4,000 lbs.

With that said, what are the power goals/budget? You can make 300 whp easily with the B18B.

Also, you'll have a lot of fabricating to do. The manual tranny is a cable operated unit. That plus the need to plumb hydraulic lines for the clutch, which will require the install of a new pedal box from a manual Integra... it all adds up to big time dinero.

I'm with Shingo, send your auto tranny to Force 10 [have them beef it up] use AEBS or Crower sleeves on your B18B (you can safely bump to 2.0L displacement w/ the Crower kit), do some port matching and headwork, then turbo the snot out of the bish.. 20 psi on 2.0L will certainly get the job done...

Just my two cents.

BTW, check out Mike Kojima's book, "HONDA/ACURA PERFORMANCE: How to Modify D,B and H-Series Engines for Street and Drag Racing Performance". It's filled with good info, and it's reasonably cheap.
ISBN: 1-557-883-84-X.

Didn't catch that part. If I'm thinking of bags right, wouldn't those affect straight line speed as well?
