I've had an encounter or two where I tell someone to search and they claim they have. I get plenty of responses on my searches.

We should collaborate and make a Search Tactics thread or something. hehe

One other thing: if you're posting some kind of classified, pleade keep it in the 4 Sale/Trade/Wanted forum. Us mods are going to move it there anyway once they see it, so if you could save us the trouble that would be much appreciated.

Yeah, sometimes it seems like people are trying to make others look stupid, even if they have no reason, and even if they do, the mature thing would be to drop it, especially the higher tagged people. A lot of the newbies... are NEW. We havent had a chance to do things, and we really dont need people telling us crap and what idiots we are, we ask questions to get help and answers, not smart ass remarks. Dont mistake our posts either, unless I go out and say I am HONDA GOD, God of all things Honda, and I know more than you, and you, and you, and dont ever question me, cause i KNOW EVERYTHING...anyways, I know I dont know much, thats why Im here, and I know that not everyone here is a honda genius, so please stop acting like it some of you. I do agree with the search thing though, Ive caught myself a few times, but don't forget, how do you raise your level, by making posts. Its kind of a catch 22

heh, i am not sure what situation this thread is referring to..... but it sounds an awful lot like the time i nearly bashed a guy i work with over the head after a 3-day-long argument in which he was trying to convince me that the "power-band" of a car was some kind of belt.

i learned there that the best thing to do with ignorance is ignore it.

I agree with most of what has been said already in this thread. This is exactly what gives Honda-Tech and HAN bad names on other auto forums, the people that resort to these tactics. Its rediculous.

However, XSrcng:
Hearsay is not necessarily a bad thing. newgsrdriver said it best:

If you havent done it, seen it, or broke it yourself, you arent sure. And thats fine, just make your point including "I heard that" or "Im not sure, but I think..." etc. Everyone makes mistakes, but blatant misinformation hurts everyone on here.
But...

We should also take this time to remind them that the search function is their friend. Chances are the question has been asked before, and in most cases it's been asked a lot.
No, please dont turn this into T-I.net. I stopped going there because everything was "use the search". Thats all I heard. "Use the search function". I heard it so much, I was afraid to ask questions there. Im not one of those people who are blessed with search engine prowess. I couldnt search my way out of a paper bag. I can guarantee that you and I could use the same search engine, the same search terms, do all the same things and you would come up with different results than me.

But yeah, keep it real fellas. We dont need the hate. We are here to be car guys, to learn, to teach, to pass on, to have fun. Not argue.
