i bought a 96 ls and put a 97 gsr on it.but i still cant figure out how to hook up the vtec and the sensors.im getting check engine light.still using ls hardness and odb2 ecu.i would appreciate any help.i have search the whole website and still cant find anything

 

Don't you need an ECU & wiring from a GS-R? Otherwise your LS ECU doesn't know you have VTEC or IAB. Or a knock sensor.

 

i do have th gsr ecu but lshardness

 

Did you add a wire for your VTEC?

 

you need to swap your computer also, for a gs-r coputer, that is programmed to for the knock sensor, and for vtec activation.

 

Then you need to make up all the wiring connections that are missing from the LS harness. Like the VTEC solenoid, VTEC oil pressure switch, knock sensor, IAB vacuum valve... & whatever else I'm forgetting.

Are both '96 & '97 OBD-II? So if you've got a Helm shop manual for your '96, it's got all the wiring you'll need for the '96 B18C1. I bet there's hardly any difference in the wiring between '96 & '97??
