Default Help building my b18...(long)

At first i thought my engine was swapped for a b18b, the guy i got the car from said that the old engine was taken out, and replaced with a new one, but he didnt know if it was a b18a or b18b...

I know theres only a 10hp difference between the two, and as far as i know the only reason for that is, diff wiring/computer and shiz like that... I really want to build up my engine now because i can start putting my money into the car cause its paid off now... As is, i have a exedy racing clutch, nuespeed short shifter, and a ractive cai... I plan on buying flowmaster exhaust system with like a OBX tip or something like that...

If my engine is a b18a, is it worth putting cams, new pistons, and polishing the head, and possibly turbocharging with all the fun fuel management??

If so, what do you guys recomend for pistons?

I am honsetly not sure where my engine code is at on my engine, im sure its somewhere stupid that i just havent looked...

As far as turbocharging goes, anyone know where there are some good guides on what is the best fuel management and how to put it all together, using a eclipse turbo or something like that,, i plan to only go 7-8lbs for now, as i know that higher boost requires better engine building...

Thanks for all the help in advance.

I have a turbocharged b18a1. Its a great engine for turbocharging, and the stock internals can withstand a lot. I run 7psi daily with no problems, although i am a little rich. Before i decided to sell my car i was planning to run 12psi and make about 280whp on stock internals. I would have accomplished this with 550cc injectors, tial 35mm wastegate, and hondata s200 with some very good tuning.

Hm, thanks for the information, at least i know if my engine is a b18a it will be ok... But being more specific on tuning, do you mean like fuel management? keep in mind im still learning this shiz, only been into acura/hondas for about 2 years..
