Thanks, Chase
Neither of these are meant for drag, so get some drag radials....

^^^ hey thanks for the worthless post ! To the other guys thanks for the help! I got the Khumo's! I know these tires arn't ment for drag. I wanted good all season tire that would have some performance for an occasional trip to the track.

thanks again Chase

:stupid:

I don't believe I see anything in the above statement asking about an all-season tire or even mentioning daily driving. You specifically asked about drag and grip, so I was just informing you that there are specific tires for that will better meet those requirements.:slap: :fawk:

Ripped from FatBooty in thread: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...threadid=47703

The Ecsta MX is a "dry" performance tire kind of like the BFG g-Force KD or Falken Azenis so if it rains a lot you may want to stay away.

The Eagle F1 GS-D3 is supposed to be Goodyear's top of the line dry/wet performance tire. It competes with the Bridgestone S-03, Yokohama AVS Sport and Michelin Pilot Sport. The compound is a bit harder so it lasts longer and isn't quite as loud. I would say that in terms of dry performance it's a step between the Dunlop SP9000 and the aforementioned three tires. Not a bad choice at all really, although if you want the best wet traction out there the S-03 is the way to go.

I have some azeins on some spare rims for autocross. They hook up awsome. I got caught in the rain with them on one time. They seemed to keep traction in the wet even when I took a hard corner to test them out. They seemed to keep traction better than my street tires. :dunno:

The Kumho 712 isn't an all season tire. They're alright for the price but nothing amazing. If the only thing you do is drive around on the street and go to the drag strip every once in a while then you probably wouldn't notice the difference between them and a true high performance tire anyway.

As it turns out, the MX is actually more along the lines of the Bridgestone S-03 than the BFG KD or Azenis, in that its tread is actually designed specifically for wet performance.

The Azenis are awesome dry tires and will work well in the wet also, but they give up a bit of traction in the wet to the S-03 and MX.

And for anybody even considering the Shitto 450's: they are worthless.

I'm surprised that they still make the 450's. Those are the worst tires ever made. Period. Stay away from Toyo's as well (at least the FZ4's anyways). Pretty much the same tire. I'd advise to get any other tire besides those two mentioned...

The Toyo T1-S is actually a really good tire. They tend to weigh less than similarly high-performing tires but they're kind of pricey. The FZ4's are poop.

The S2000 I drove this weekend had T1-Ss all around, I was impressed.
