overheating need help!

Were you squeezing the hoses while the engine was warming up with the cap off?

Do your fans function? When does it typically overheat?

definately yes the fans are good i havn't had it long and my g/f blew it up and i totally rebuilt it... she overheated it until the head gasket blew... idling is when it starts, always i have the front bumper off too so it can get more cool air

how do i clean the water inlets to the head, i was just talking to my sisters bf and he said he had that problem in his civic SOHC

So you are thinking that there may be a clog in the system? Sounds plausable but I have never heard of that...

Get that new thermostat in and see if that helps anything.

okay the car is on the way back for my g/f lunch break i'm gonna put that new thermo. in there and replace the top rad. hose as it was buldged today i'll post back in about an hour to see whats up after this i think if it doesn't work i'm gonna take it to a local radiator shop and tell them to keep it until it works and then i'm selling it

You should probably replace both radiator hoses with a new rad, I did. It seems if you are going to spend the stupid amount of money a new radiator costs, a few more bucks for an upper and lower hose is not a bad idea.
