Default Options? Need some insight...

Hey all.. just bought an Acura Integra GSR 1997 in mint condition...

I, however, want to drop a 3.0 Liter VTEC in her... do I have any options? Or am I screwed??

If I am not screwed.. and I am thinking somewhat clearly could somone please direct me to a site that perhaps sells Honda/Acura 3.0 VTEC engines???

Thanks,

Chris

I really don't think it would be possible, but don't quote me on it.

Why exactly would you want to do that, if you don't mind me asking?

Its not a civic. You dont need to switch the engine out to go fast If you got the money, throw a rev hard stage 3 turbo charger in it. Why waste a engine if its in mint condition.

Just my two cents..

Chris... I think you may be screwed as far as the 3.0L (NSX engine) goes. I am pretty sure (99%) that engine will not fit in the Integra engine bay. Plus the cost of the engine, transmission, ecu, and all the many hours of custom work will be prohibitively expensive. Probably more than you just spent to buy the car.
If you do some more searching, and maybe post this in Engine Tech, you will get a more concrete answer (like the exact dimensions of the 3.0L or 3.2Ls, and why exactly they won't work)...
You're biggest problem is that they were designed for a RWD platform, while the Integra is FWD. To try and changeover the GS-R from FWD to RWD is sort of like getting a sex change and a heart transplant at the same time.... not advisable.
Good luck if you're really stuck on this project, though. Just remember, like TriDawg said, turbocharging a B18C1 can produce some nice fat power, maybe up in the same range as the 3.0L... !

NSX? How large are the TL/CL Type-S engines?

You can make enough power to spin the front wheels in third gear with the current b18c1 in your car if you really want to; no need for a 3.0 liter engine.

I will take your advice and turbo it
HKS exhaust
AEM inatke.. my list goes on...

what kind of power am I looking at? Should I be thinking about poping in a similar engine with more stock HP?? O rkeeping stock engine and turbo it?
