Default Clutch ??

Hey how's it going. I'm in the process of looking at some clutches. It's for a 98 GSR. It'll be a daily driver but, I'm looking at a Exedy stage 1 clutch. Can I just get the clutch & have my oem flywheel resurfaced or would it hurt getting a lightened flywheel. If so what brand flywheel do you guys recommend & what's some good places to order.
I have 171K on orig. clutch. I just want a little more bite than stock but not a heavy clutch pedal for everyday traffic you know what I mean...

Any advice welcomed. Thanks..

stage 1 exedy with stock resurfaced flywheel is nice. with 171k i'd also get a new clutch master and slave cylinder. its always best to get the "least" amount of clutch that is needed for your car. anything more than whats needed just adds drivetrain shock and wears out parts unnecesarily.

When I replaced mine last year, I went with an exedy stage 1 and a fidanza flywheel.

I went with exedys stage 1 clutch and love it. Since my car is basically stock it works great at the track and I personally haven't noticed any "Heavier feel" to the clutch in daily driving.

AcuraLsSE when you went with the stage 1 did you keep your stock flywheel . Also, did you change anything else.

I'm using an Exedy stage 2 with an ACT Prolite flywheel.

Do you guys think an Exedy stage 1 with an OEM ITR Flywheel will be a nice setup for a daily driven 99' GSR?? I want a little extra kick when driving compared to the OEM clutch/flywheel. Also, I'm at 108k miles, should my master and slave clutch cylinders be changed?

as long as you dont pay the type R tax on the ITR flywheel you should be fine. yes, change the master/slave cylinders.
