I do use D4. Just out of curosity, does your D4 indicator on your dashboard light up? The lights light up for P, R, N, D3, 2, and 1, but not for D4 ... is this normal?

Dx doesn't allow the gearbox to shift above gear x. Therefore, for best gas mileage, you should do all your driving in D4 EXCEPT when you would like to not upshift. So, if you're gong up a steep hill, or are carring alot of people, you can get more 'zing' by using a lower D gear. BTW, I drive stick, but I recall reading this my owner's manual. They even go so far as to say that by 'shifting' through the D gears, you can 'drive the car much like a manual without the clutch'.

My D4 light went out once too, I just took it to the dealer and they fixed it for free, but you can do it by removing yr gauges (as if you were going to replace the faces of the gauges). Once you pull it out, you should see a row of tiny lights, take out and replace. I think it the same bulb using the the shift gate , ash tray and cig lighter ring.

Thank you all for the tips. I may just have to take it into the dealer. Is this covered under some type of warrenty ? I don't want to have to drive down there (it's kinda far) and have them charge me...
I have 120k on my 95. I don't think it's still under warrenty. But maybe for the light??
Regards
