On my 00' LS I owned, I had replaced the stock manifold with a DC Sports 4-2-1. That combined with my AEM CAI, and bosal pro-speed exhaust pulled noticably more then a STOCK LS.

Numbers were as followed:

135.1 WHP
125.0 WTQ

Tempature was 74*F and I had 33,000 miles on the car. Out of 3 runs that was the best.

I had no complaints with the DC Sports header. I bought it used for 250 shipped. The previous owner had only used it for a month. It actually looked as if it had never been used.

I dont know what your goal is, but look around. Dont rush things like this. Youll just end up kicking yourself in the A$$ in the long run.

Right now Im looking at Apex'i WS Exhaust, Comptech ICE BOX, and probably a $400-$500, 4-1 header for my GSR. Goal is to NA it to 160Whp.

And again, like everyone says, youre making a mistake.

And again, I said I got the point. There are parts out there that can be bought from certain other brands for half the price and more than half the quality (i.e. springs, wheels, turbo kits). I get the idea that a header is not a part that you can do this with however. I'll probably look into exhausts than a header.

Oh yeah...I lost to my friend in his Civic EX with I/H/E. I always KILL him from 2nd gear launches up to 80 but the other day we went from a standstill and I had him again at 80...he started pulling on me and we kept going to 100 where he had me by a car length and than stopped.

Anyways, I obviously need some more top-end power. I'm pretty sure that a header either gives more low-end or more top-end but not usually alot of both, right? So, what are some specific headers and exhausts that will give me the boost in high-end (rather than low-end) power I need to kick my friends ass? :naughty:

I hope your writing all this down... Im suprised the thread made it this far, due to how far it has strayed off the original topic.

Header Lesson #1 FIRST AND FINAL.

4-2-1 will give you more Mid range power

4-1 will give you more High end power

TIG welded is stronger and more expensive then MIG welded.

Stainless is more durable and more expensive then ceramic.

Youll get more throttle response with an I/H/E but as far as gaining low end. Theres really not much you can do NA.*Jackson Racing SC* or shorter gear ratio's. SI tranny or GSR. But thats not cheap.

p.s. Your young. Use this car as a beater. Save cash and buy a used GSR in a year or two.

You wont see anything from the exhaust...literally minimal gains.

It just isnt necessary. Neither is a header, but the stock iron manifold is more of a restriction than the exhaust.

If I could afford a gsr's insurance I would have bought a G2 GSR to begin with...

P.S. it doesn't matter to me much if its not "noticeable gain" to you. It's what made my friends automatic civic beat me in 4th gear and very high 15 - low 16 second cars narrowly beat me. I'm just looking for an edge...enough to put me ahead of alot of cars that seem to edge me out.

And Tridawg, just because I'm younger than you doesn't make me retarded. (Write this down :fawk: )

Did I not answer all your questions to the best of my abilities. I did not TRY.. and insult you in any way. Just telling you to pay attenchin to my post, unlike you had with previous posts.. because you have been repeating yourself.

A mod is a mod. Youll enjoy it. Whether it will actually do anything to your car to improve its performance.. you will think it will. If its louder its faster. The more stickers the pimper. The bigger the wing, the bigger the cock inside. Right?

Good luck, you have alot of reply's from alot of respectable poster's. Read them over again.. and just think before you go spending money.

Hey thanks Tri. I did listen to your posts by the way..all of them. But uhh, I'm no Ricer there buddy. Although a 30 lb hunk of metal on my trunk to give me less traction to my wheels, all the while looking "pimper" is VERY tempting...by the way, how many stickers on your car? I have none actually. Surprise surprise, right Tri?

This thread is getting too dumb.

Youve got your answers, good luck with your setup...I hope your exhaust gives you the power to whack any and all 16sec automatic civics you run into on the streets...
