Default Antenna...

What wire should i use to disable the antenna with a switch. I want something centered around the dash so that the switch is within reach.

Does anybody have pictures of this, so that i feel more at ease. I think that it is the green/yellow wire, but i dont want to go cutting and find out it is not.

Hi I just did this mod a few days ago.

Yeah the wire harness coming out of the back of the Radio/CD Player has a yellow/green wire. This is the power for the antenna. Cut this, leaving enough on each side to crimp another wire onto. Then you can basically route your wiring anywhere you want it. I ran it down the center console and hooked up a switch in one of the slots next to the handbrake.

ya, then you can control whether or not it goes up and down. It mainly bothers me because i listen to cd's and it allways is going up and down.

I used a black (flat, opaque, up/down) toggle switch. I went to all the hardware stores and even Radio Shack but none had any that I liked...finally I found one at my local Pep Boys.

You have to hold the switch in the "up" position to get the antenna to extend and then in the "down" position to get it to retract, correct?

My fuhken antenna wont go anywhere. it is constantly perched in the fully extended position! it really sucks..because i duh no whats wrong..i think the motor is toast..but then i pushed it down(manually) and the antenna motor whines..but the antenna doesnt go back up. it even whines when the car is off..like its trying to push it up but just cant.so i HAVE TO keep it up all the time. its really weird
sorry that was kind of off topic

The plastic toothed-ribbon thing feeds into the motor may have broken - That's the most common part that breaks and you do not need to replace the motor (despite what some shops may tell you)
