Default 2000 GS wont start

i have not trolled around on the HAN forums in a number of years, but i'm stumped with this one and hope someone here might have some helpful advice.

my car is a 2000 gs coupe (B18b motor), 92K, and until last month has run fine in the 4 years i've had it. sat over the winter though . last time it ran(February ish), i went to start it and the battery had run down, so i jumped it, ran fine. went to start it about a week after, and nothing. even trying to jump, no clicking from the starter, no electrical drain like i would expect to see from the starter motor. the interior chimes like to spaz out and click randomly while the battery is connected (brand new battery, since i had the original factory battery, first thing i did after i had to jump it was replace).

as far as i can tell, its an electrical problem somewhere on the starter circuit, which would explain why it doesn't put a strain on the system, but i cant explain how that would be affecting the interior chimes.

bad starter? bad starter solenoid? bad cpu? any input is greatly appreciated.

bypass the starter switches.

buy a remote starter and clamp one end to the battery b+ and the other to the small S terminal @ the starter itself. If your car starts up, then your problem is on the control side of the starter. if the car does not start still, you might wanna check the battery coneections specially the ground side to the chassi8s

I could be way off, but do you have an aftermarket alarm? I ask 'cuz my lady has an alarm in her CRX that doesn't sound off and whenever she drains the battery by leaving an accessory on, or when someone is working on her car and disconnects the battery, there's alot of confusion as to why her car wouldn't start because it goes to into 'valet' mode. But you can hear relays go off. It starts after you turn the key to first click and hit a tiny hidden button.

Like I said, probably off base, but thought it was funny how your symptoms (no clicking from starter; no evident system strain; etc.) are so similiar.

BTW, there were other instances when the alarm had gone off, but since it's a non-working siren, it drains the battery just enough to make the interior chimes to go a little goofy...!
