Default Automatic transmission slipping

My friend just bought a 95 4 door integra, its white with a weird 2 tone interior. The car just hit 200,000 k on it so it needs a lot of maintenance. His transmission is slipping out of first gear, i know that sometimes not refilling the fluid can cause slipping and a bad solenoid, but what other problems can it be beside the 2 i mentioned?

My guess could be mileage. Maybe a flush and change the filter.

you could try the flush but i doubt that it will work. solenoid will set a code so dont even waste your money on that. like lynx said, its the mileage. its just tired tranny and the last owner knows it needs a big budget to fix thats why he just sold it to your friend.
damn thats messed up. find a used tranny with low miles at a junk yard.

Auto Trans go for $300. make sure you get a transmission from a OBD1 vehicle. I would never buy a transmission from a junk yard. They already have problems. Look on the internet like ebay or a warehouse that sell motor and trans. I bought my JDM SIR-G OBD2 trans for like $600 because it's OBD2 the place where I bought it from had an OBD1 for $300. Now there close down.

Just best to just replace the whole thing instead of repairing it. A tranny rebuild can cost up to 1500 dollars.
