195/50/15 as opposed to 205/50/15?
I was over at H-T and I saw that a lot of the Type-R guys ended up running a 195/50/15. I was confused, because I've never heard of anyone doing that.
Wouldn't that throw the speedo off even more? The stock tire is 107.25 mm tall, the 205/50 is 102.5, and the 195/50 is 97.5
The reasoning I got was because they are cheaper than the others, but are there any drawbacks? I just realized that a Potenza S-03 is $114 in 205/50 but $79 in 195/50.
Good thing taxes are coming!

i just put a set of S0-3's 195-50-15 on my ITR and i have no complaints yet, actually, i love them!
and if i remember correctly the stock tire size is 195-55-15 w/ the potenza re010 ...... i went to a 50 series to keep the tires scrubbing the fender wells..

Yea, I'm totally NOT doing it.
After talking with FatBooty, I've decided to stick with a 205/50. He suggested going with the Falken Azeni Sports, $68 per tire is NIIICE
I really want to stick with S-03s, but I'm looking at $489 shipped. Then I have to get them mounted, so unless my local tire guy can work some magic, Falken it is.

Azenis BLOW in standing water...if you live anywhere where it rains hard, consider your car useless. I wouldnt get Azenis' for that fact.
Id rather go with 195/50 S03's than Azenis'. Nevermind they dont last long. Or hell, why not SP5000's, or Kumhos, or T1-S, etc etc.

You wouldn't be using the Azenis as a daily driving tire. They are completely designed around racing in the dry and offer very little tread life and *no* all-season capability. Anyone using Azenis should be wrapping them around a seperate set of rims and leaving them for track duty only.
