I did a little searching around for and it might be the power-door lock actuator, actually a little electric motor. Try mentioning this to the dealer after you reschedule and thaw out, see what they think. My lock is getting worse, now it won't even lock and I can't open the door from the inside. Needless to say, I really need to find out what the solution is.

The car is supposed to go back to the dealership tomorrow, but since it's under 20" of snow, it's not gonna happen.
Hey gsr2k, did you ever take your car over to the dealership? If you did , what did they say was wrong with it. I've taken apart my door panel so many times trying to figure otu the problem. And still nothing. I'm beginning to think that the actuators are just bad. Anyone know how much they usually go for?

I took it to the dealership once and they said a piece of the trim plastic was catching something so they replaced that. It wasn't even close to fixing the problem. The mechanic guy was hesitant to replace the actuators becasue "they expensive". I have no idea how much they cost. But I have to call the dealership today and make a new appointment - I was supposed to go last week, but I got snowed in.

Mine does the same thing... It doesnt get too cold here either, which makes it bizarre. I havent looked at the grommet yet, but wouldnt it be fairly straight forward to remove it and drill it out so it has more room inside to slide through? did that make sense?

Makes sense, but I don't know that it's the problem. Then again, I don't know what the problem is. But I would think if it were the grommet, it would be a more wide-spread problem.
